About this Event
Join us at 10 am on December 6th for a presentation from wildlife biologist, Natasia Moore. She will lead a talk about urban ecosystems, touching on issues like the loss of native plants and the growth of exotic species. This talk will introduce attendees to the many animals we share our spaces with and explore their important roles in our environment's health. She will also discuss why certain animals, like fox squirrels, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, and even bobcats, are thriving in cities, and why we often see “generalist” species that adapt easily to different environments.

Natasia Moore received her Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management and a Master’s degree in Wildlife, Aquatics, and Wildland Science and Management from Texas Tech University. She is currently an Urban Wildlife Biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife, where she performs professional planning, management, research and public outreach associated with wildlife, habitat and natural resource management specific to the Greater Austin area. She is also the TPWD coordinator for the Bird City Texas program. Her research interests include ecological effects of urban development, specifically as it relates to raptors and other avian species.
